Registration Certificates, civil status certificates and electoral status certificates are attestations respectively  issued by the Registry Officer, the Registrar and the Electoral Officer (“Ufficiale d'Anagrafe”, “Ufficiale di Stato Civile” “Ufficiale Elettorale”). They result from the register of the resident population, the civil status registers and the municipal electoral lists. The Registry Officer typically releases residence and family status certificates. The Registrar releases birth, marriage and death certificates. The Electoral Officer certifies the registration in the electoral lists and the enjoyment of political rights. Certificates that need to be presented to other public administrations are replaced by self-certification.
